Analyses of iron electron status in Chela-Ferr biocomplex using Mossbauer Spectroscopy

Pharmaceutical products Chela-Ferr biocomplex, the component of which is iron, was analyzed by means of Mossbauer spectroscopy. Mossbauer spectra were collected immediately after the purchase of the preparation in the pharmacy and after one year. A significant change in the iron status in the tested product has been demonstrated. Over time, the iron oxidized from Fe2+ to Fe3+, which may affect the drug’s inadequate absorption.
