Dendrymery - nowe możliwości polimerów
2007-07-22
Dendrimers - novel abilities of polymers. In comparison with the traditional linear polymers, dendrimers have much more accurately controlled structure. The high level of control over the characteristics of dendrimers (their size, shape, monodispersity, branching, and surface groups number) make them excellent candidates for biomedical applications. Dendrimers are being investigated not only as drug delivery applications, but also as contrast agents carriers, and in gene transfection. The drug molecules can be encapsulated inside the dendrimer or drug molecules can be covalently attached or physically adsorbed onto surface of the dendrimer. Modified dendrimers have also exhibited antibacterial and antiviral activity.
