Therapy of superficial and deep mycoses. Superficial mycoses can be caused by dermatophytes, yeast-like fungi and moulds. They are connected with infections of skin, hair and nails. Clinical division distinguishes the following types: tinea pedum, tinea unguium, tinea capitis, tinea barbae and tinea mannum. In the therapy topical and systemic treatment can be used. Systemic therapy is necessery in tinea capitis, nail diseases and chronic skin infections. The following new antifungal drugs are used in the therapy of superficial mycoses: allyloamine derivites (terbinafine, naftifine), morfoline and pirydynone derivites. Invasive fungal infections develop mainly in immunocompromised patients. Candida infections and aspergillosis are the most frequently diagnosed. In prophilaxis and therapy of mycoses are used: amphotericin B, flucytosine, fluconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole and caspofungine.
