Mikro- i nanocząstki w terapii okulistycznej
2009-03-25

Most of all ophthalmic dosage forms are applied as eye-drops, ointments and gels administrated topical to the eye. In common practical issues there are several problems such as: low bioavailability, destabilization of tear films, rapid elimination and noncompliance by patients. Therefore studies of the novel ocular drug delivery focus on inventing new dosage forms and improving the existing ones.
Much of the search are devoted to micro- and nanoparticles as microcompartments systems. They are prepared by natural and synthetic polymer, such as: hialuronic acid, chitosan, polymers and copolymers of lactic and glycolic acid, poly-caprolactone and derivatives of acrylic acid.
Keywords: microparticles, nanoparticles, polymers.
