Liver fibrosis - therapeutic strategies
Liver fibrosis represents the wound healing response to all forms of chronic liver injury. This paper reviews recent discoveries relating to the cellular and molecular mechanism that regulate fibrogenesis and the efficacy of the main treating strategies, such as: removal of stimulus injury, suppression of hepatic inflammation, downregulation of hepatic stellate cells activation, promotion of extracellular matrix degradation and hepatic stellate cells apoptosis.
