FDM, that is, a method of fused deposition modelling, is a type of 3D printing, which finds broader and broader use in research on creation such forms of medicine as pills, capsules, or implantation forms. The research is focused on: looking for new filaments which could be used to print various forms of medicines; looking for medicines and methods of their incorporation into filaments’ medicines durability assessment and profile of their release from the printed form; and attempts of using FDM method to receive modified-release pills. The paper is a review of scientific publications on using FDM method to receive pills, published after 2014.
