Possibilities of delaying skin aging processes with the use of selected medicinal substances

Aging is a process associated with the occurrence of many unsightly changes in the external appearance and functioning of the skin. It is a process that can affect the quality of life and self-acceptance. Among the many substances showing a beneficial action delaying skin aging processes, the most effective action have compounds such as botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid, organic acids, peptides, and vitamins A, E and C. In addition, plant stem cells are used to delay physiological processes of skin aging. These substances are used to reduce and filling wrinkles with different etiology of formation. Botulinum toxin is a remedy for mimic wrinkles, while hyaluronic acid and organic acids – for wrinkles caused by photo-aging. Biomimetic peptides which are an alternative to botulinum toxin, effectively smoothen mimic wrinkles and prevent the formation of new ones. Plant stem cells stimulate organism cells to faster regeneration and provide proper skin hydration. Thanks to easy penetration through epidermal layers, they stimulate collagen fibers and increase elasticity in the dermis. Vitamins A, E and C are substances that evoke visible rejuvenating and anti-aging effects mostly related to photodamage.
